POSITION:
Director of Instructions
RESPONSIBLE TO:
Superintendent
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
CURRICULUM MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- Assist in employment of certified staff.
- Chair curriculum meetings as necessary.
- Provide recommendations for curriculum improvement and coordinate implementation of approved changes.
- Keep current on educational research.
- Make presentations to administration and board of education.
- Oversee special programs including Gifted and Talented, Alternative Education, Virtual Education, and Safe and Healthy Schools (School Nurse).
- Lead textbook adoption process.
- Coordinate with professional staff development committee.
- Supervise departmental faculty members and keep them involved in the curriculum improvement process. (i.e. Instructional Coach, Data Coach, PLC Leaders)
- Oversee district-testing process.
- Analyze test data (written report).
- Locate and apply for grants.
- Direct all Academic Accreditation processes.
- Develop/Update budget for the district and update the Board of Education monthly.
FEDERAL PROGRAMS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including Child Nutrition, JOM, Title VI):
- Hold all necessary committee meetings.
- Develop budget.
- Work closely with encumbrance clerk and federal programs assistant to expedite budget matters and reimbursement process.
- Supervise and evaluate all federal programs including Child Nutrition, JOM, and Title VI.
- Oversee Child Nutrition program and monitor budgets.
- Directly supervise and evaluate site managers
- Coordinate directly with Food Service Management Company.
TECHNOLOGY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee Technician.
- Assist with technical training through professional development.
- Oversee overall technical operations of district

Assist in technology grant writing.

Oversee district web page and work directly with District Webmaster.

Consult with administrators regarding technology needs.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide monthly reports to the Board of Education.
- Attend meetings of the Board of Education.
- Visit each site regularly and perform formal evaluations for Assistant Principals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
- Four to ten year’s related experience and/or training. Preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Regular attendance following a designated work schedule; must be able to work extended hours and additional days/evenings as required by position responsibilities; must be able to attend and participate in meetings and conferences scheduled.
