POSITION:                 

Title I Literacy Lab Paraprofessional

 

RESPONSIBLE TO:     

Superintendent and Building Principal

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

Discusses assigned teaching area with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts; Plans, prepares, and develops various teaching aids and maintains teacher’s copy requests; Assists in presenting subject matter to students, utilizing variety of methods and techniques such as lecture, discussion, and supervised role-playing; Assists in preparing, administering, and grading examinations and assignments; Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts; Works with students and teachers to set performance goals; Covers classes and duties such as lunch, playground and bus duties when requested; Submits reports and performs other duties as assigned. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

Individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:   

High School diploma or equivalent required and Associate’s degree from an institution of higher education or passing score from the state based para-professional test. 

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:   

Regular attendance following a designated work schedule; must be able to work extended hours and additional days/evenings as required by position responsibilities; must be able to attend and participate in meetings and conferences scheduled.

Beginning of the 2025-2026 school year
