POSITION:
High School Boys' Basketball Coach with Teaching Position
RESPONSIBLE TO:
Superintendent, Athletic Director, and Building Principal
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Responsible for the direction and supervision of the entire boys’ basketball program of Bristow Public Schools. Assists the Athletic Director in developing budgets, equipment purchases, scheduling and game arrangements. Monitors eligibility of student athletes in the boys’ basketball program. Assists Athletic Director and Principal in evaluation of personnel involved in the program. Assists in the maintenance and upkeep of all physical facilities related to the program. Directs off-season and summer conditioning program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Individual must have proven ability to direct and integrate the boys’ basketball program for the entire school system. Must possess the ability to be an effective classroom instructor in certified subject field. Head coach responsibilities not a requirement, but would be an asset to one’s candidacy. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and have demonstrated successful performance of duties in previous assignments. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and valid teaching certification.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Regular attendance following a designated work schedule. Work extended hours and additional days/evenings as required by position responsibilities. Attend and participate in meetings and conferences scheduled. Demonstrate leadership capabilities. Actively participate in professional organizations and associations.
