POSITION:  High School Head Football Coach

RESPONSIBLE TO:  Superintendent, HS Principal, and Athletic Director

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The High School Head Football Coach is responsible for the direction and supervision of the entire football program of Bristow Schools.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Responsible for the direction and supervision of the entire football program of Bristow Public Schools. Assists the Athletic Director in developing budgets, inventories, equipment purchases, scheduling and game arrangements. Monitors eligibility of student athletes in the football program. Assists Athletic Director and Principal in evaluation of personnel involved in the program. Assists in the maintenance and upkeep of all physical facilities related to the program. Directs off-season and summer conditioning program. Works directly with the elementary football program to direct and ensure a smooth transition from the elementary football program to the middle school program. Works directly with the booster club and community leaders to promote the football program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Individual must have proven ability to direct and integrate the football program for the entire school system. Must possess the ability to be an effective classroom instructor in certified subject field. Head coach responsibilities not a requirement, but would be an asset to one’s candidacy. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and have demonstrated successful performance of duties in previous assignments. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from four year college or university

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

A valid Oklahoma teaching certificate. Certification in care and prevention of athletic injuries.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Regular attendance following a designated work schedule; must be able to work extended hours and additional days/evenings as required by position responsibilities; must be able to attend and participate in meetings scheduled.
